Cedaredge Chamber of Commerce and Town Government Founded in 1892 and
incorporated in 1907, the Town's economy was based on coal mining, agriculture, and
ranching. Over the past decades, the town has developed as a service center for residents
of the Surface Creek Valley and tourists traveling the Grand Mesa National Scenic and
Historic Byway, and recreating on Grand Mesa. With the development of its exceptional 18
hole golf course, the area has attracted a rich diversity of individuals from all
backgrounds and locations. Artisans, writers, farmers, shopkeepers, lawyers, doctors and
retiree's from everywhere make up the town. A result of this diversity has been the
opening of a number of fine art galleries, unique gift stores, antique shops, eateries and
wineries.
