Beaver Creek Colorado Information - Vail Valley Chamber of Commerce   Located adjacent to the town of Avon is Beaver Creek Resort. Much like the rest of the Vail Valley, Beaver Creek was first inhabited in the late 1800s by prospectors. However, it was not developed until much later. Vail Resorts purchased Beaver Creek in 1972 and construction was completed in 1980. The world-class ski resort opened its doors to the public on December 5.
