City of San José San José is a confident and exciting city, full of
optimism and opportunity. We treasure our past. We embrace our diversity. We nurture our
future, in our children and through stewardship of our resources. People are proud to live
here. In a 2001 community survey, two-thirds of us said our neighbors have pride in San
José, and nearly 70 percent of us rate the quality of life as good or better. 92 percent
of us feel safe in our community. For over ten years, the FBI crime statistics have shown
that San José is the safest large city in the U.S.
