City of Colton - Besides three transcontinental railroads
passing through Colton, there were several steam roads connecting the “Hub” with
other Southern California cities, including San Diego. A fine trolley car service
connected Colton with the other cities of the valley. Construction of a line to Riverside
was planned, and also to Los Angeles.
